What happens during a treatment?
We start by preparing the skin for treatment and marking up the concerned areas. A cooling ultrasound gel is applied to the skin in order to commence with HIFU. Once all areas are treated, we follow with a gentle cleanse and hot towel compress - everyone’s favourite part! 

We recommend finishing the treatment with LED therapy as this helps accelerate the healing process and boost results. You may choose to add this on to your session.

Can HIFU be combined with other treatments?
Yes, HIFU can be combined with other aesthetic treatments such as anti wrinkle, volume enhancement treatments and LED therapy for enhanced results. How does it feel?
The sensation is hot and prickly initially, but this feeling quickly subsides as we move over the area. Clients are generally very comfortable throughout the treatment.

When can I expect to see results?
HIFU is a treatment that continues to improve with time. Although you may look and feel tighter on the day, the results are not immediate as the process of skin regeneration takes time.

You can start to see a gradual lifting and tightening effect within 2 to 3 months, with full results typically visible after 6 months as the collagen continues to develop. Results can last up to a year or more, depending on your skin and lifestyle.

How often do I need to get HIFU?

Clients that are having HIFU for the first time generally require a second treatment 3 months later to achieve the best outcome. Once results are achieved, maintenance treatments can usually be done 8-12 months apart, or as necessary.

Can I spot target certain areas of the face?
Absolutely! Each HIFU treatment is customisable and can be altered to target specific concerns.

Is HIFU safe?
Yes, HIFU is considered safe when performed by a trained and experienced practitioner. The treatment is non-invasive and TGA/FDA-cleared for use on the face and body. However, like all aesthetic treatments, there are some risks, and it's essential to consult with your practitioner if you have any concerns about whether the treatment may be right for you.

Is there any downtime after treatment?
No, there is no downtime after a HIFU non-surgical facelift. It is recommended that clients avoid excessive heat and consumption of alcohol for 24 hours after the treatment, but aside from this they can resume their day as normal. Some clients may experience mild redness, swelling, or tenderness in the treated areas, but these side effects typically resolve within a few hours to a few days.

• Flushed or Red Skin (Erythema): Temporary redness caused by heat stimulation, which typically subsides shortly after treatment.

• Mild Side Effects: You may experience slight puffiness, tenderness, bruising, or skin texture changes in the treated area. These effects are usually mild and temporary, resolving within a few days.

• This treatment is not suitable during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or while undergoing fertility treatments.

• Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before and after your session.

• Avoid anti-inflammatory and blood-thinning medications (if possible) for 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

• Discontinue oral or topical retinoids, steroids, or antibiotics for at least 4 weeks before treatment.

• If you’ve recently had dermal filler injections, wait a minimum of 6 weeks before your HIFU session. For anti-wrinkle injections, allow at least 2 weeks before proceeding with skin treatments. (Your cosmetic nurse will thank us!)
